Speakers
Joanne O’Donnell, Head of Compliance
With 21 years post-qualification experience, Joanne heads up the Global Regulatory Compliance team at Compliance and Risks. She has extensive national and international legal experience in private practice, in-house and industry and has been with Compliance and Risks for over 12 years. She helps support its clients with their global legal compliance challenges with a particular interest and focus on Sustainability, ESG, Climate Change, Human Trafficking and Slavery as well as Business and Human Rights.
Joanne has a Bachelor of Arts (Legal and French) and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland as well as a Masters in International law (LLM) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. She also has a Masters Degree in French from the University of Limerick, Ireland. She recently completed a Masters course in Business and Human Rights at the University of Bergen, Norway. She qualified as a Solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland in 2003.
Michelle Walsh, Senior Team Leader – Global Regulatory Compliance Team
Michelle is a Senior Compliance Specialist and Team Leader. She is an Irish qualified lawyer and is currently living in Belgium.
Michelle is responsible for analyzing global environmental and product regulation. Her specialty areas are the circular economy, energy efficiency, ecodesign, waste electrical & electronic equipment (WEEE) and the transboundary movement of hazardous waste.
Antoine de Brosses, Founding Partner, Product Law Firm
Antoine de Brosses has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1982 and was the former Secretary of the Conférence du Stage (public speaking contest of the Paris Bar).
The author of a reference book on the labelling of foodstuffs (French and EU laws), Antoine has written a monthly legal news column for the Revue de l’Industrie Agroalimentaire for the past 20 years and has written numerous insightful articles on product regulation for specialist journals such as Légipresse. He also writes articles for Chambers & Partners, publisher of the highly referenced annual international ranking of lawyers. His firm also contributes to the C2P Compliance & Risks platform.
His practice specialises in European and French laws and regulations applicable to food, consumer goods and food-related chemicals. His clients range from start-ups to large food industry groups, as well as small and medium-sized companies and their French and European trade unions. He also works with a network of international law firms and scientific experts in the field of mass consumer products.
