Speakers
Joanne O’Donnell: Head of Compliance
With 21 years post-qualification experience, Joanne heads up the Global Regulatory Compliance team at Compliance and Risks. She has extensive national and international legal experience in private practice, in-house and industry and has been with Compliance and Risks for over 12 years. She helps support its clients with their global legal compliance challenges with a particular interest and focus on Sustainability, ESG, Climate Change, Human Trafficking and Slavery as well as Business and Human Rights.
Joanne has a Bachelor of Arts (Legal and French) and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland as well as a Masters in International law (LLM) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. She also has a Masters Degree in French from the University of Limerick, Ireland. She recently completed a Masters course in Business and Human Rights at the University of Bergen, Norway. She qualified as a Solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland in 2003.
Michelle Walsh: Senior Compliance Specialist
Michelle is a Senior Compliance Specialist and Team Leader. She is an Irish qualified lawyer and is currently living in Belgium.
Michelle is responsible for analysing global environmental and product regulation. Her specialty areas are the circular economy, energy efficiency, ecodesign, waste electrical & electronic equipment (WEEE) and the transboundary movement of hazardous waste.
Danny Cassidy: Senior Leadership Team
Danny, a qualified engineer, with over twenty years of experience in software development, professional services, and growth leadership.
With a career that spans both the Corporate and Private Equity space, Danny started in the technology sector working with Motorola where he was involved in pioneering Design for Manufacture processes. He then transitioned to the financial services industry where his passion for leveraging technology to continually drive process improvements and return on investment was fueled.
Over the past 5 years, Danny has worked with thought leaders from leading brands around the world, to create a vision for, and guide the delivery of transformative regulatory compliance programs and leverage advances in modern technology.
Siobhán Fairman: Head of Engineering
Siobhán is currently the Head Of Engineering at Compliance & Risks, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Engineering Manager at Compliance & Risks from May 2016 to June 2021.
Before joining Compliance & Risks, Siobhán worked as a Senior Consultant at eSpatial from January 2011 to October 2014. Siobhán also gained experience as a Senior Software Engineer Contractor at Fujitsu from August 2010 to January 2011 and as a Senior Software Consultant at Fidelity Investments (TerraNua) from September 2007 to November 2008.
