Australia Publishes Guidance on COVID-19 Under Modern Slavery Act
The Australia Modern Slavery Act 2018 requires large Australian entities and foreign entities carrying on business in Australia to report annually on the risks of modern slavery in their operations and supply chains and the actions taken to address those risks.
The Australian Border Force recently published guidance for entities on how to reduce the risk of vulnerable workers in their operations and supply chains becoming exposed to modern slavery as a result of COVID-19. The guidance also explains how reporting entities under the Act can address the impact of COVID-19 in their modern slavery statements.
The guidance can be viewed here.
